I’m excited to help spread the word about Music for a Purpose — a concert series founded in 2022 that pairs incredible performances with meaningful community investment. To date, nearly $40,000 has been raised for organizations like The Healing Place, Louisville Nature Center, Olmsted Parks, Maryhurst, the Center for Women and Families, Louisville Climate Action, and now the Louisville Urban League. These concerts are grant-funded and open to the public, with donations benefiting the featured charity — making music accessible while strengthening the organizations that serve our neighbors. This is what community partnership looks like: arts, philanthropy, and local leadership coming together for impact. I hope you’ll join, attend, and help spread the word.

We are deeply grateful to Music for a Purpose for choosing to support us during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The decision to feature composers who embodied the theme of “struggle” fittingly honored resilience. The concerts themselves—set alongside other DVAM programming—created unique, artful spaces for reflection and hope. We cannot thank Julia Cash and her fellow musicians enough for using their artistry to inspire generosity and raise awareness for survivors.

Thanks to the generosity of Music for a Purpose and its supporters, we have been able to expand vital programs that guide individuals on their journey to recovery. The funds raised through this year’s concert series helped provide essentials like safe shelter, counseling, and recovery support for those facing substance use challenges. Your commitment has been invaluable to sustaining our mission and empowering lives. Together, we’re creating a stronger, healthier community—thank you for being a part of it!”

We were so grateful to partner with Music for a Purpose to offer two amazing concerts that showcased some of Louisville’s best musical talent and raised much-needed operating funds. Thank you, Julia – keep at this good work!

We are grateful to Music for a Purpose for partnering with us this year…funds will go directly to support all the wonderful things that people enjoy in our parks; the landscaping, the view sheds, the overall health of our parks. We gained many first time donors that learned about us through one of these concerts!

I expected compellingly beautiful music, and got it. The fun surprise was getting to use my German, thanks to the singer's clear diction!

I attended the "Music for a Purpose Concert" for The Earth and Spirit Center and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the concert. The music was incredible and I knew it was for a good cause because of many positive personal experiences with The Earth and Spirit Center. Looking forward to future concerts.

It was an absolute pleasure to attend a concert by Louisville’s chamber music group Music for a Purpose. At times I was leaning back in my chair absorbing all of the sensations of the music, and at other times I was on the edge of my seat wanting to yell “ bravo”. It was a fabulous concert.

I really enjoyed the concert. The musicians were all top-notch, and the performances were riveting and emotion-producing. Whatever feelings may be aroused by music, I felt many of them during this concert.
